Timothy Martin, 43, of Bogata, was pronounced dead at the scene of a wreck on U.S. 82 near Brookston this morning, according to Texas Department of Public Safety officials.

Martin was driving a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on U.S. 82 about 6:15 a.m. when he struck a dark colored bull standing in the roadway. He was ejected from the vehicle and came to rest in the middle of the highway.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Lamar County Justice of the Peace Tim Risinger.

Martin was wearing a helmet.

Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Mark Tackett with DPS said an eighteen-wheeler truck trailer ran over the dead bull in the road after the motorcycle incident.
