George Emerson

George “Chris” Emerson passed away Aug. 18, due to a car accident.

He was born March 28, 1964, to Day and Nancy Emerson.

Chris married Becky Geer Oct. 8, 1994, in DeShong Chapel, in Paris. They had one daughter together, Misty Anne Emerson.

Chris played on a championship football team for Paris High and then attended Paris Junior college. He lived in Austin for a time and was a lifelong fan of the Texas Longhorns. He worked for his family’s fence company for years and was a master fence builder.

At the time of his death, Chris worked for R. K. Hall construction, where he was a longtime employee. As a lab technician, he took pride in his work to skillfully solve and prevent problems.

Chris enjoyed and was exceptionally good at trivia, puzzles and contests.

He is survived by his daughter, Misty; and his mother-in-law, Ann Geer, who loved him like a son. He is also survived by his mother, Nancy; brothers, Monte and Tiger; sister, Tammy; daughter, from a previous marriage, Desiree; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Kevin; and nephew, Terry.

In 1994 Chris accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and now worships Him in Heaven.

Burial was held at an earlier date at Evergreen Cemetery.
