The Paris Police Department has announced its next police officer examination will be at 1:30 p.m. July 16 at the department, 2910 Clarksville St.

Applications for testing will be accepted Friday through July 11. No applications will be accepted after 5 p.m. July 11. Applications are available at City Hall, 135 1st SE in Paris; at the police station; or on the web at www.paristexas.gov.

Applicants who are veterans must submit form DD214 with their application or prior to the test. Photo ID is required to take the test.

Applicants must be at least 21 and under 45, although 18- to 20-year-olds with 60 hours of college or two years of military duty with an honorable discharge are accepted. They must read and write English, must meet requirements for licensing by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and be able to pass a physical assessment.

Study guides are available at the civil service director’s office and police station. All applications must be submitted to the civil service director. For information, call Civil Service Director Sandy Collard at 903-784-9272 or email scollard@paristexas.gov.
