Paris police said they arrested Randi Jane Parker of Idabel, Oklahoma, Monday after responding to the 800 block of Deshong Drive at 7:49 a.m. for a possible intoxicated person.
Police said Parker was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a prescription medication that was not hers. Parker was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug.
She was later taken to the Lamar County Jail, where she remained this morning, according to online jail records.
Police investigate burglaries in the city
Paris police were dispatched to a residential burglary in the 1900 block of Silverleaf Street at 8:50 a.m. Monday, when it was reported someone had entered the garage of the residence while the owner was not at home and had stolen a Stihl lawn edger. The investigation continues.
Another burglary of a residence was reported to Paris police at 4:22 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of 20th Street NE. It was reported that one pair of tennis shoes and a pair of stud earrings had been taken. The incident is under investigation.
Calls for Service: Paris police responded to 90 calls for service and arrested three people on Monday.
