DEPORT — Calling all car lovers — Project Deport is rolling out the carpet for a day of family fun as part of its first car show.

Julia Grossman, an organizer of the event, said hopes are it will become an annual show. Registration is from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hale Glover Community Center, near the corner of Main and Dewey streets, with judging set to begin at 11. Winners of the show will be announced at 2 p.m.

Featured vehicles will include pre-1930s motorcycles, rat rods and hot rods from the 1930s through ’50s, racecars from the’50s through ’70s, muscle cars from the ’70s through ’90s, special interest vehicles from the ’90s through 2010 and unfinished cars from 2010 through today.

Grossman said there also will be door prizes, adult’s games, children’s games, lunch baskets, a silent auction, cake walks and more, including an ice cream contest and a barbecue cook-off.
