Good morning, Lamar County! 🌩️🌩️🌩️

And the thunder rolls... From just after midnight, Thor and Zeus have been tossing lightning bolts at each other. We're looking at a 100 percent chance of heavy rain, with up to 2 inches of rain possible, with winds 15 to 20 mph. Gusts can reach 35 mph. It will continue into tonight, tapering off overnight.

A word of advice if your plans include a trip to Louisiana: Don't go. The Storm Prediction Center has forecast a SIGNIFICANT chance for truly severe weather - tornadoes, hail, winds - for areas including Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Jackson, Mississippi, Lafayette, and Lake Charles, LA.

We'll keep you updated on our weather here. Please plan accordingly, stay dry and stay safe.
