Paris police said they arrested Lamesa Menyett Sims, 40, of Dallas, at a residence in the 600 block of East Price Street at 7:28 a.m. Tuesday after officers found her outstanding felony warrants out of Dallas County charging her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Sims also had two warrants out of Lamar County charging her with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Sims was later taken to the Lamar County Jail, where she remained this morning, according to jail records.
Covert operation lands Sumner man in jail
Paris police said 64-year-old Billy Dean Caldwell of Sumner was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with theft of more than $2,500 but less than $30,000 when he was found to be in possession of suspected stolen property.
Caldwell was taken to the Lamar County Jail, from which he was released on $4,000 bond, jail records show.
Police investigating 19 Street SE robbery report
Paris police said officers responded to a robbery call at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of 19th Street SE. Police were told one known black male and two unknown black males had assaulted a 45-year-old complainant and had stolen money from him.
The complainant was not seriously injured and did not seek medical treatment. The incident is under investigation.
