Good morning, Red River Valley!

Are you ready to get out and stretch your legs this weekend? I hope you said yes, because if you didn't, the rest of this will be pointless since you'll be staying inside.

We'll start today with clouds in the sky, eventually becoming mostly sunny with a high near 90. Got to watch the feels though: The heat index value will be as high as 97. Winds will be from the south at about 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30.

Tonight brings with it a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m. Otherwise we will be mostly cloudy with a low around 74, with continued winds from the south at 15 mph.

Storm chances won't let up from there. They increase to 40% on Sunday, and they increase again to 60% Sunday night and Monday. If any of these storms form, forecasters warn of a borderline severe hail/wind threat given the ample atmospheric instability expected to be in place.

So, now you know. Get out there and have yourself a great Saturday!
