UPDATE, 10 a.m.: The chance for an isolated, strong storm has increased for our area today to 40%. Storms, should they appear, our forecast between 1 and 9 p.m.

Wonderful morning, Red River Valley!

Let's keep it simple: There's a 20% chance of showers after 1 p.m. Expect the high to reach 91 today, though watch out for that heat index — the value will be as high as 100.

Things will cool off into the evening as temps relax to about 74 under a partly cloudy sky. That will set us up for a beautiful start to the work week, a mostly sunny Monday with a high near 94 and a heat index value of 101.

Keep the fans and air conditioners going to stay cool. Stay hydrated, and make this Sunday your best yet!
