DEPORT — Those involved with Project Deport are hoping for quite the turnout tonight as the city celebrates America’s birthday.

The Deport Fourth of July Freedom Festival kicks off at 6 p.m. with games and contests, vendors and a fireworks show at dusk touted by the city on Facebook as “the biggest fireworks show in Lamar County.”

The event will feature music, children’s games, family and group games, a cake walk, a water balloon war, a concession stand by the American Legion and the chance for prizes. Music will play until 11 p.m.
