Two CEFCO gas stations recently closed, but will reopen as Chevrons. Pictured is one of the former CEFCO stores, located on S Church Street.

Two CEFCO convenience store gas stations closed earlier this week, CEFCO Vice President of Marketing Rich Levin said. Banners located at the stores indicate they will soon reopen as Chevron gas stations.

The stores closing are located at 2880 Northeast Loop 286 and 2170 South Church St. in Paris.

Levin said the move does not indicate a shift away from the Lamar County market.

“We have no intent to exit Paris,” Levin said. “These stores just don’t meet our strategy for future growth.”

Levin declined further comment regarding the convenience store retailer’s plan.

“We have great customers and great employees in Paris, and this is by no means a reflection of either of them,” Levin said.

Chevron officials could not be reached for comment by press time.
