Local couple Joel and Lora Sanders are new owners of Chapman’s Florist and Gifts, 1811 Pine Bluff St.

Born and raised in Direct, Joel Sanders has been employed in the chemical/agricultural sales business in Paris for the past 21 years. Lora was a military dependent so she lived in many cities throughout her younger years. She has been a North Lamar employee for the past 20 years and currently serves as the principal of Everett Elementary. The couple has one son, Logan, a pilot for American Eagle.

“We have some exciting plans that will enhance our customers’ shopping experiences,” Sanders said. “We have begun carrying a larger selection of flowers, vases, wind chimes, music boxes and more. We are also carrying gifts for all occasions with new exciting product lines.”

New lines include Bourbon and Bowties Jewelry, Wine-a-rita, Simplified Goat Milk body products, Cheerful Giver candles, Sunny By Sue ornate wine/beverage glasses and Bomb bath products made with essential oils.

“We are proud to say that for many of these product lines we are the exclusive Paris retailer,” Sanders said. “Our goal as the new owners of Chapman’s Florist and Gifts is to become not only your florist, but also where our customers shop for all of their flower and gift needs.”

Kayla Sanders, who has been a floral designer for nine years, is the store manager.

“We also are proud to have the Chapman’s wonderful floral designers, Stacy and Dale, who together have more than 50 years of floral designing experience,” Joel Sanders said.
