Cooper officials have agreed to move forward with changing a portion of McKinney Avenue to a one-way street.
Mayor Darren Braddy said in order for the change to go through, the city has to draw up an ordinance.
“It is literally a one-block street, where the old high school was and the cafeteria,” he said. “The street isn’t wide enough for a two-way.”
He said in addition, parking along that road is all for coming down one way. The area now has the administration office for the school district and the Delta Hope House food pantry.
During the meeting, the council also agreed to an increase from Sanitation Solutions of 6.92%.
