Bo Harris convicted of murder

Published November 5, 2009

BONHAM — A Fannin County jury took less than 30 minutes Tuesday to convict Bo Bailey Harris, 20, in the murder of William Ian Adams.

The jury heard evidence from 20 witnesses and considered more than 250 items of evidence during the six days of testimony.

Harris was sentenced to 45 years in the Texas Criminal Justice System by 226th District Court Judge Laurine Blake. He also received 20 years for burglary of a habitation and two years for burglary of a building in deferred adjudication.

All the sentences will run concurrently.

Adams was stabbed to death on April 21, 2008.

“Adams was a talented musician and aspiring video game designer, who went to college at age 16,” District Attorney Richard Glaser said. “He was a brilliant student.”

Glaser said Harris agreed to waive appeal and to accept the sentence.

“He admitted the murder,” Glaser said. “He stabbed Adams 17 times and almost decapitated him.”

Glaser said it gives closure to a “very horrendous crime.”
