Hal Rheudasil
Hal Rheudasil, 93, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2009, in Paris.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Van Lazaroff and Rev. Gary Regan officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
The family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Sylvan, to Henry and Margaret Rheudasil. He was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and Paris Lions Club. He was known for his poetry, which he wrote for special occasions and about people who were close to him. In his earlier years, he was a farmer-rancher and general contractor for the telephone company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rheudasil; and brothers, James, L.P. and Charles.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Martin and husband, Jim, of Hurst; son, Sam Knox and wife, Judy, of Longview; four grandchildren, Craig Martin and wife, Karen, of Granbury, Kelly Taylor and husband, Jason, of Colleyville; grandson, Jeff Knox and wife, Coreen, of Singapore and Lauren Patel and husband, Pranay, of Allen; seven great-grandchildren, Caroline Martin, Carlee and Keaton Taylor, Brayden and Rowan Knox, and Parker and Pierce Patel; and nephews and nieces, Bob Rheudasil, Jerry Rheudasil, Bill Rheudasil and June Vest; and many great nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Craig Martin, Jason Taylor, Pranay Patel, Harold Blackburn, Don McCaskill and Wally Kraft.
Honorary pallbearers are Bill Thomas, Jack Troutt, Eddie Poole and Jim Loar, members of the Couples Class at First United Methodist Church or neighbors.
We want to express a special thanks to his caregivers, Paulette Richardson and Vicki Lipton, his home health nurse Tiffany Drake of Millenium Health Care and all of the wonderful staff at Colonial Lodge.
