NL Bands earn Sweepstakes Awards at UIL

The North Lamar Symphonic and Concert Bands each earned “Sweepstakes Awards,” the highest honors given at the U.I.L. Concert and Sight-Reading Contest. The contests were held recently in Mount Pleasant.
And on April 17, the Symphonic Band performed in the Peak Music Festival in Denton, earning a 1st Division and was named Outstanding Band of the Contest. Several 5A bands from the Dallas area were among those competing against North Lamar.
Students and sections recognized for their performances were: Fallin Boswell, piccolo; Kera Archambeault, euphonium; Laynee Fulgham, oboe and English horn; Taylor Woods, clarinet; Cole Sherwood, bassoon; Shelbi Mabb, alto saxophone; Luke Raper, tuba; the low woodwind section; and the French horn section.
The North Lamar bands are under the direction of Randy Jones, Janie Logee, Matt Neal and Tommy Neugent.
