Robert Epperson

SHERMAN – Robert Epperson, 72, of Sherman passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.

Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at West Hill Cemetery with Chester Teel, a brother-in-law, officiating. Dannel Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

The family is to be at the funeral home from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

He was born Jan. 20, 1937, to Jim and Viola Tackle Epperson in Bridgeport. In December of 1956, he married Betty Jan Truax. She preceded him in death in 1994. He was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in Chico, where he grew up and attended public school.

A hard worker, he worked for most of his life as a machinist for Texas Instruments and Oilwell Supply in Garland. After his retirement, he worked as a security guard. His hobbies included travel and going boating on Lake Texoma. He loved the outdoors, especially camping.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and two sisters.

He is survived by his son, Benny Epperson and wife, Rhonda, of Paris; two daughters, Karen Pace and husband, David, of Sherman and Marsha Viers of Sherman; eight grandchildren, Summer Lewis of Sherman, Britanee Pace of Sherman, Heather Pace of Sherman, Monica Viers Whiting and husband, Hadley, of Decatur, Krystal Viers Simmons and husband, Chris, of New Mexico, Holly Norton and husband, Sean, of Sherman, Robert C. Epperson of Fort Worth, and Blake Epperson of Las Vegas, Nev.; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nora Mae Motley of Midlothian.
