Powell-Simmons
Dallas Kay Powell and Eric Don Simmons both of Paris, Texas were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Living Word Pentecostal Church in Paris, Texas with Reverend Tiny Freelen officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Houston and Gearldene Powell of Paris. The groom is the son of Terry and Geney Simmons of Paris. The bride was escorted to the alter by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore a satin A-line gown with a beaded embroidered metallic bodice and inverted v-empire. The same beaded embroidered metallic that was on the bodice was also repeated on the bottom of the dress and went down the cathedral length train. The cathedral length veil was sheer with flower beads, sequins and scalloped edges. The bride carried a bouquet of white, pink and tangerine roses.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Larissa Knotts, friend of the bride, of Sulpur Springs, Texas. Bridesmaids were Whitney Ashford, Misty Powell and Stephanie Ashford, all nieces of the bride. The flower girl was Mayci King, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids wore different styles of satin watermelon dresses. The maid of honor wore a tangerine strapless dress with a watermelon sash.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Pathway Christian Academy and is attending Texas Women’s University to obtain a bachelors degree in nursing.
The best man was Freddie Powell, brother of the bride of Paris. Groomsmen were Dustin Ashford, Cody Powell and Brandon Ashford all nephews of the bride. The ring bearer was Chase Powell nephew of the bride. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Chisum High School and is employed by Turner Pipe as an x-ray technician.
A reception was held at Celebrate It. The rehearsal dinner was held at Highway Full Gospel hosted by the groom’s parents. Following a wedding trip to Branson, Missouri the couple will live in Paris.
