Jack D. Rose
MESQUITE — Jack D. Rose, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 25, 2009, in Balch Springs.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. May 27, at Edgemont Park Baptist Church, 1804 Hickory Tree Rd., Mesquite, with Rev. Kevin Holmes officiating. Interment followed at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
He was born July 21, 1932, in Paige Chapel to A.J. and Thelma Rose, who preceded him in death.
He proudly served on the U.S.S. Frank E. Evans during the Korean Conflict, retired from the Pacific Railroad after 44 years and was a member of Local 745 and was a deacon for many years with Edgemont Park Baptist Church in Mesquite.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kathryn Rose; daughters, Twilla Rose-Lindsey and husband, Joe, of New London, and Pamela Fuller and husband, Bill, of Paris; son, Phillip D. Rose and wife, Linda, of Mesquite; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Rose and wife of Paris; sister, Betty Stricklain of Powderly; and several nieces and nephews.
