Chisum volleyball finds weekend success

The Chisum Lady Mustangs racked up victories over the weekend, both in Paris and away from their friendly confines.

Chisum claimed a home win over Miller Grove on Friday, defeating the squad in four sets by scores of 25-16, 20-25, 25-23 and 25-19.

Sierra Hurley paced the Lady Mustangs in the match with a team-high 16 kill shots and also added three blocks. Shelbie Monkres had six kills and seven blocks.

Allie Moore led the team with 15 digs, while Taylor Haliburton and Lauren Richardson had 15 assists and 13 assists, respectively.

In the Liberty-Eylau tournament Saturday, Chisum earned a second-place finish in the silver bracket after defeating Elysian Fields and Paul Pewitt before falling to Chapel Hill in the team’s final match of the day.

Monkres led the Lady Mustangs with a combined 40 kills and 24 blocks in those matches. Hurley had 36 kills and 14 blocks.

Moore had 43 digs, and Kristen Hodges had 27. Haliburton contributed with 56 assists.
