NORTH LAMAR NOTES: This meeting marks the first time this season that the North Lamar Panthers are set to face a team with a worse record than their own. North Lamar picked up its first win of the season in a home game against District 10-3A foe Anna on Oct. 9. The Panthers’ district record currently stands at 1-1 after they suffered a home setback against Paris this past Friday...The Panthers enter this week’s game with a positive feeling about their passing attack after their senior duo of quarterbacks, Tyler Walston and Ryan White, combined to pass for 73 yards. That was North Lamar’s second-best passing performance of the season and trailed only the 75 yards of passing in Week 4 against Pleasant Grove. All 73 of the yards in this past Friday’s game went to senior Austin Parson, who now leads the team in receiving yards...Junior RB Dakota Boles continues to be a bright spot for North Lamar this season, as he has rushed for 800 yards and six touchdowns, including 142 yards against Paris this past Friday. He is now third in the Red River Valley in rushing yards, despite missing the first two games of the season due to an injury...On defense, senior S T.J. Shirley has been making big plays in the secondary and leads the team in tackles.

BONHAM NOTES: The Bonham Warriors have struggled through their 2009 campaign. The closest they have come to winning were eight-point setbacks against Whitesboro in a pre-district game and against Van Alstyne in their district opener...Dual-threat QB Kyle Washington has been their catalyst on offense, as he has passed for 707 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions while also rushing for 546 yards and five touchdowns. Washington spreads the ball around and has connected with 15 receivers at least once this season. His leading receivers are Daine Dunlap, who has hauled in 15 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns, and Chase Gregory, who has six receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns...RB Jeremy Smith is the team’s second-leading rusher with 36 carries for 138 yards.

PRAIRILAND (7-0, 4-0) AT CHISUM (5-2, 2-2)

GAME NOTES: This rivalry game has been lopsided in recent years. The Prairiland Patriots have topped the Chisum Mustangs in each of the past nine seasons by an average margin of 19 points. Chisum will aim to change that trend by picking up its first win over Prairiland since 1999 in an effort to stay in the hunt for a spot in the postseason...Much of the Mustangs’ hopes for a victory rest on the shoulders of senior QB Jeremy Eddington, who leads the team in rushing and passing. He is the top rusher in the Red River Valley in rushing yards with 1,153 and 16 touchdowns. He has also passed for 330 yards and two touchdowns. Chisum’s rushing attack is backed by T.J. Briscoe, Brian Glover and Sloan Moss, who each boast over 200 yards on the ground...Chisum will be opposed by the offense of the Prairiland Patriots, which has been balanced through four District 12-2A contests. Prairiland senior QB Payne Schuelke, who missed two pre-district games because of an injury, has passed for 718 yards and nine touchdowns. Senior RB Randal Sessums has handled the bulk of the running duties and is second in the Red River Valley with 1,028 yards and 13 touchdowns...Prairiland has shown the ability to put opponents away early in the game and has outscored its opponents 82-6 in the first quarter this season. Chisum performs well in the first quarter as well, outscoring opponents 65-37. The key quarter for the Mustangs will be the fourth quarter when they hold only a four-point advantage over their opponents.

Kennedy also added 97 yards through the air, including a 71-yard strike to Kyle McCuller. Those yards allowed Kennedy to break the 1,000-yard mark for the season and he currently has 1,056 yards...This week will pose a greater challenge for the Rebels.
