Ralph Edward Bowden
Ralph Edward Bowden, 63, of Houston passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Houston from ARDS after suffering complications from surgery.
A celebration of his life was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at The Chapel of Pat H. Foley & Co. in Houston with the Rev. M. Eugene Vickrey officiating.
He was born July 24, 1946, the son of Charles and Thelma Teel Bowden in Paris. He was a 1964 graduate of Paris High School and attended UT of Arlington. He was a master woods craftsman, building many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. Formerly owner/CEO of Blue Bayou Construction, he was a senior plan analyst for the city of Houston. He married Rean Imhoff Makol in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Jean Bowden Golden.
Surviving him are his wife, Rean; sons, Todd Bowden and wife, Laurie, of Austin, and Ryan Makol and fiancé, Lyndia Haryanto, of Houston; daughters, Rebecca Lacour and husband, Josh, of League City and Kristina Harris and husband, Robert, of Spring; grandchildren, Taylor Bowden, JD and Kendall Lacour, and John David Harris. He is also survived by one brother, Mike Bowden and wife, Rea, of Winchester, Tenn.; and sisters, Marilyn Threadgill and husband, Marshall, of Paris; and Charlene Weaver of Mandeville, La.; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
