Janine M. Chiles

Janine M. Chiles, 86, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Brentwood Terrace in Paris.

Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home is to conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at Union Grove Cemetery in Reno with Rev. Beverly Olsen officiating.

The family receives friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born in Zalisia, Poland Sept. 21, 1923, to Victor and Josephine Mimier Mierkiewicz. Raised in Corbeil-Essones, France, she married John B. Chiles, Jr., Aug. 21, 1946, an d moved to America in 1948. She became a U.S. citizen in 1951. She had the opportunity to travel and live in many countries and was most proud to be an American.

She is survived by her husband; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Gail Chiles of Paris, and Terry and Lucinha Chiles of Ecuador, South America; grandchildren, Sara and husband, Jason Garrett, of Roxton, Ian Chiles of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Leslie and wife, Natalie Crenshaw, of Paris; great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Jessie and Riley Crenshaw of Paris; her sister, Marianne of Moissy Cramayel, France; a special nephew, Michael Mierkiewicz and Wasser; and numerous nephews and nieces in France.

The family would like to acknowledge special friends, Dr. Kelsey Gibbs, John Nance, the staff of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, and the nurses at Brentwood Terrace who provided compassionate and professional care.
