Brenda G. Sims
BONHAM – Brenda G. Sims, 60, of Bonham passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, following a lengthy illness at home.
Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Ivanhoe Baptist Church with Rev. Casey Blanton and Rev. Dean Williams officiating. Interment follows at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.
Family visitation was scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
She was born in Altus, Okla., Oct. 31, 1949, to Alvin L. “Buster” Edmiaston and Mildred Humphreys Edmiaston. She married William Thomas Sims Sept. 17, 1999, in Bonham. While residing in Bonham, she became a well-known business owner and was active in her community. She was a member of Ivanhoe Baptist Church. She had a great love for people and animals and adopted many homeless pets over the years.
She was preceded in death by her father; and brothers, Royce and Leon Edmiaston.
She is survived by her husband, William Thomas “Tom” Sims of Bonham; son, Mark Sims of Fort Worth; daughter, Kimberly Tice and husband, Larry, of Fort Worth; mother, Mildred Cox of Alabama; sisters LaJuana Eckel and husband, Raymond, of Paris and Jan Thompson of Alabama; mother-in-law, Laura Sims of Bonham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clifford Watkins, Mickey Workman, Danny Rodgers, John Reamer, Mike Faulkner and John Moncrief.
