Hargis Electric recognized for performanc

Hargis Electric of Paris was recognized among their peers as the best performing service company among an international organization of independent service companies at a Nexstar meeting this month in Detroit, Mich.
Owner Bryan Hargis and service manager Cory Wood accepted the award for the top-ranked service provider among the Nexstar Select Service® Award of Excellence program.
Nexstar® is a business development and best practices organization delivering business training, systems and support to independent service providers. Their 400 members are electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling professionals who come from the United States, Canada, Australia and the Cayman Islands.
The Nexstar Select Service program was created in 2004 as a recognizable symbol to consumers of service providers who deliver excellent customer satisfaction.
Each Nexstar member is annually offered an in-depth analysis of their company’s three pillars of success in the service industry; superior customer satisfaction, excellent working environment for employees, and maintaining a financially healthy and profitable company.
Hargis Electric was ranked at the top when these three criteria where compiled by Nexstar.
Hargis Electric has been a member of Nexstar for more than two years. Committed to building their company on attentive, professional service rather than new construction, Hargis looked to Nexstar to guide the company’s development toward the growth they wanted.
After Hargis and Wood attended Nexstar’s training school on fundamental service business operations, they set a goal of implementing whatever it takes to make this year’s elite list of Nexstar Select Service member companies. Only 12 percent of the top-shelf companies who are members of Nexstar make the Select Service grade.
“I guess we overshot it a little,” Hargis said.
“The growth and development Bryan Hargis and his company underwent to receive this recognition was a monumental challenge,” describes Greg Niemi, president/CEO of Nexstar. “Change for the better never comes easy in the service business,” Niemi said. “Hargis realized the need for customer service training for his staff and the extra effort required by his employees to wow their customers.
“Nearly half their staff walked away from the company at a critical time in the company’s growth. At the time, it was devastating for Bryan and Cory. When Bryan and Cory hired replacements, they carefully chose individuals who shared their vision.
“Immediately, a new culture emerged within the company where their staff began to savor the fun and fulfillment of delivering a unique brand of customer satisfaction.
