Paris High and North Lamar were both well-represented on the All-District 10-3A Football Team, released by the league coaches recently.
Wildcat running back Aaron Ethridge shared Most Valuable player honors with Van Alstyne running back Orion Thomas.
Ethridge rushed for 689 yards for the season and scored 12 total touchdowns for the Wildcats and was also a return threat.
Paris High sophomore quarterback Corban Taylor was a unanimous selection for Offensive Most Valuable Player. Taylor completed 119 of 227 passes for a school-record 1,770 yards and 19 touchdowns while throwing only seven interceptions.
Taylors main target sophomore receiver Tavarius Williams was a unanimous pick at Newcomer of the Year after catching 32 passes for 674 yards and eight touchdowns, all team highs.
Wildcat senior Kendall King was named Special Teams MVP after scoring four touchdowns on blocked punts and fumble recoveries.
North Lamar placed one player on the superlative list, senior safety T.J. Shirley, who was named Defensive MVP. Shirley had a team-high 84 tackles, including 63 solos.
Van Alstyne had two players on the superlative list, Thomas and Shane Jones, who garnered the Offensive Lineman honor.
Annas Darian Jackson was named Defensive Lineman.
The Wildcats also placed eight players on the All-District First Team, four on offense and four on defense.
Wildcat junior Tevin Gray was a first-team receiver, while seniors Eric Campbell and Dylan Cathey, and sophomore Demontez Allen were first-team offensive linemen.
Defensively, Paris High senior end Cedarius Hill, who led the team in tackles, was a first-team selection, as was senior tackle Jordan Gill, outside linebacker Cory Battle and senior cornerback Equettis Jenkins.
North Lamar had three players on the First Team offense. Junior running back Dakota Boles, who led the team in rushing with 1,281 yards on 233 carries and 10 touchdowns, made the first team, along with tight end Austin Parson and kicker Cody Daniel.
Van Alstyne won District 10-3A, going 5-0 in league play and a perfect 10-0 on the season before getting tripped up by Celina in a Class 3A bi-district Division II playoff game. Paris ended up 4-1 in district and 6-5 overall and lost to Argyle in the first round of the playoffs. North Lamar was 3-2 in district and 3-8 overall. The Panthers lost in the Division I first round of the playoffs to Prosper.
Anna ended up fourth in district behind North Lamar, finishing 2-3 in league play and 4-6 overall. Commerce was 1-4 in district and 1-9 overall, while Bonham ended up 0-10 overall.
