ATCOG to review grant applications

The executive committee of Ark-Tex Council of Governments is to consider several area grant applications when it meets at 10 a.m. Thursday in Omaha.

It will review a grant/loan application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development from the Chicota Volunteer Fire Department in the amount of $50,000 for construction of a second fire station to service the community and assist Lamar County.

Executive Committee members also will review a grant application to the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families from Detroit Independent School District in the amount of $897,408 to be matched with $224,352 for continuation of the Red River County Head Start Program for 2010.

The City of Annona has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for amendment of a permit to authorize construction of a second stabilization pond and lift station to the existing wastewater treatment site in Red River County with discharge of the plant ultimately to South Sulphur River.

Lamar Power Partners, LLC, has applied to the TCEQ for amendment of a permit to authorize the addition of internal outfalls and the transfer of permit limitations from Outfall 01 to internal outfalls at its plant site in Paris.
