Berry Dale Ellis

CLARKSVILLE — Berry Dale Ellis, 87, of Clarksville passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center in Clarksville.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Johnson officiating. Burial follows in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clarksville Funeral Home.

He was born May 14, 1922, in Atoka, Okla., to Irving and Ida Mae Troutman Ellis. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Avery Masonic Lodge No. 921. He retired from the Red River Army Depot.

He was preceded in death by three daughters, Carolyn Ellis, Sandra Martin and Sharlett Collins; one granddaughter, Amie Eaton; and one grandson, Jeremy Chad Eaton.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Nowlin Ellis of Clarksville; son, Steve Ellis and wife, Kristy, of Hagensport; two daughters, Sheila Martin of Clarksville and Sharon Bobbitt and husband, J.T., of New Boston; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild.

Pallbearers are Mike and Brian Bobbitt, Ricky Ellis, Randy Martin, Dana Eaton and Ryan Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Avery Masonic Lodge No. 921.
