Ora Lee Malone
Ora Lee Malone, 76, of Taylortown peacefully left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior and all her loved ones that have gone before her Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at her home while surrounded by her family.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Union Cemetery at Taylortown.
The family receives friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
She was born July 2, 1933, in Delta County, a daughter of Walter and Maggie Jones. She married Clarence L. “Bunkin” Malone Aug. 19, 1949, building almost 54 years of family and memories before his death on July 13, 2003.
She was a homemaker and had worked for Hollywood Vasarette. She spent most all of her life devoted to her family, a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was known for her sweetness, kindness and always taking care of others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended Abundant Life Church in Minter until her health failed. She will be greatly missed by her family who is left to cherish wonderful memories of her, especially her laughter and her sweet smile she gave us to treasure forever.
In addition to her husband, Clarence, she was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Delphia Malone; a granddaughter, Rebecca Rose Gilbert in 2000; brothers and sisters, Lestell Smart, Arthur Smart, Leola Smart, Trudy Phipps and Arnold Lee Jones; brothers-in-law, Charles (Shorty) Malone, L. D. Malone, Virgil Sugg, Jack Gordon and J. L. Ailes; a sister-in-law, Ruby Ailes.
Survivors include her children, Lawrence Malone and wife, Rita, of Taylortown, Danny Malone and wife, Kathy, of Lamar Point, Deborah Gilbert and husband, Charles, of Taylortown, Tim Malone and Greg Johnson of Dallas and Nita Melvin and husband, Danny, of Taylortown; grandchildren, Misty and Paul Patterson, Lori and Andy Blagg, Jeff and Autumn Gilbert, Christal and Kevin Pilip, Joshua Malone, Dustin Malone, Jennifer Melvin and Steven Melvin; great-grandchildren, Jordan Jones, Lawren and Ashlee Patterson, Jaycie and Cason Pilip, Lily, Cole and Ella Gilbert and John David and Sam Blagg; one brother, Delbert Jones and wife, Francis, of Sulphur Springs; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Frieda Smart, Myrtle Smart, William and Katherine Malone, Jo Gordon, Claudell and Maurice Malone, Frank and Doris Malone, Carol Wayne and Betty Malone, Katherine Sugg, Shirley and J. D. Crews, Jane Malone, Sue and Charles Davis, and Katie Malone; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Tracy Martinez, Felicia Kincaid Theriot and Jackie Wilson for the loving care they provided.
Casket bearers will be Jeff Gilbert, Joshua Malone, Dustin Malone, Andy Blagg, Paul Patterson, Kevin Pilip and Greg Johnson.
Honorary bearers will be Steven Melvin and Jordan Jones.
