Archie Clinton Posey, Sr.
Archie Clinton Posey, Sr., 80, of Clarksville passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in Clarksville Nursing Center.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial follows in Boxelder Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family receives friends an hour before service time at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Cisco to Edwin Drue and Dixie Mae Jackson Posey. He was a retired Sales Agent for American National Insurance Company. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart and the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars. He was well known in the community and made daily visits to area coffee shops. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Posey; and two brothers, Alan Lee Posey and James Edwin Posey.
Survivors include three sons, Archie Clinton Posey, Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Avery, Randy Len Posey and wife, Jona, of Clarksville and James Edwin Posey and wife, Jackie, of DeKalb; two daughters, Linda Carol Martin and husband, Ellis, of Clarksville and Angie Mechell Posey Davis of Detroit; brothers, Edwin Drue Posey and Jimmy Jackson Posey, both of Cisco; a special sister-in-law, Wanda Posey of Clarksville; a special niece, Rhonda Posey Wren of Clarksville; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are to be Steve Posey, Glen Posey, Kevin Posey, Curt Posey, Shane Posey and Robbie Posey.
