Howell V. Potts

CLARKSVILLE – Howell V. Potts, 80, of Avery passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at his residence.

Graveside services are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in Jamison Chapel Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family receives friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Clarksville Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Clarksville to Otis and Mamie Trapp Potts. He retired from the Red River Army Depot, loved to play golf, was an avid fisherman, served his country in the U.S. Army and was of the Presbyterian faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Caldwell Potts; and two brothers.

He is survived by a son, Charles Hodgson of Emory; daughter, Paula Storey and husband, Ben Ray, of the English Community; three granddaughters, Sheri Hamm and husband, Phil, Staci Moore and husband, John, and Lindsey McEwin and husband, Devin; three great-granddaughters, Kyleigh Hamm, Jaci Moore and Storey McEwin; two sisters, Jean Townes and husband, Perry, of Richwood and Pauline Presley of DeKalb; along with several nieces and nephews.
