Roy M. Kennemer
Roy M. Kennemer, 76, of Paris passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at Legend Healthcare Center.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. John Kelley officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family receives friends at the home.
He was born April 12, 1933, the son of Neal and Minnie Lee Wells Kennemer in Slabtown. He served aboard LST-819 during the Korean Conflict as a Seaman. He retired from B&W and was associated with the Faith Presbyterian Church. He married Alene Weichel April 9, 1984.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Hall and Virginia Spears; and a brother, Roland Kennemer.
He is survived by his wife, Alene; one brother, Hoyt Kennemer; one sister; Mary Lou Percella; one daughter, Sandra Walker and husband, Richard, of Hughes Springs; two stepdaughters, Tama Cole and husband, Jamie, of Cleveland, Okla., and Debra Dryden of Paris; one stepson, Rolland Culligan and wife, Lexie, of Sheridan, Wyo.; two grandsons, Bradley Black and J. R. Walker and his wife, Tierra; seven step-grandchildren, Rebecca Dryden, Robert Dryden, Michella Cole, Mandy Cole, Justin Cole, Nicole Costa and husband, Andy, and Jessica Culligan; along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Faith Presbyterian Church.
