NORTH LAMAR NOTES: This game marks the start of the Panthers’ District 10-3A slate and also is their designated homecoming game. The goal for the team is to finally claim its first victory of the season...Turnovers have consistently doomed the Panthers through their first five games, as they have lost eight fumbles and thrown four interceptions...Another reason for the 0-5 start is North Lamar’s slow start in each game. The Panthers have been outscored 48-0 in the first quarter through their first five games. “It seems like bad things have happened to us in the first quarter and then things settle down,” North Lamar head coach Tommy Felty said...The second quarter has been North Lamar’s most productive quarter, as 28 of the team’s total 49 points this season were scored during that period...Junior running back Dakota Boles is the Panthers’ leading scorer. He has scored four rushing touchdowns...North Lamar has averaged 9.8 points per game offensively and has allowed an average of 26.4 points per game.

ANNA NOTES: Under new head coach Curren McMahon, the Coyotes have already doubled their win total from a season ago. They were 0-10 in the 2008 season, but they picked up a 20-12 win over Tom Bean and a 10-7 victory over Princeton earlier this season...Anna is a run-oriented team, with 567 of the team’s 815 total yards coming on the ground. Matt Williams (No. 15) accounted for 335 of the rushing yards on 72 carries. He has also rushed for a pair of touchdowns...When the Coyotes turn to their aerial attack, they often target wide receiver Mark Jackson (No. 88). He leads the team in receiving yards with 165 and two touchdowns.
