Don Kourakos
Don Kourakos, 63, of Reno, passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at his home.
Services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Lawson and Rev. Billy Norris officiating. Burial is to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family is to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 1, 1946, in Lamar County. He graduated from Roxton High School and attended Paris Junior College. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Elk’s Lodge. An insurance salesman, he had worked for American National Life Insurance Company, Reliable Life Insurance Company and Farm Bureau. More than 12 years ago he began working at Terry’s Furniture, which is now Ivan Smith Furniture.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Kourakos Pasquill; his mother, Georgia Fay Cope Kourakos; and his father, Nicholas Kourakos.
Survivors include his wife, Regenia Satcher Kourakos; a son, Todd Kourakos and wife, Angie, of Paris; grandchildren, Regan Maberry and Cade of Paris, Derik Spangler of Paris and Emily Carter and John of Antlers, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Braylan Maberry, Memphis Spangler and Caydin Carter; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Casketbearers are Thomas Roach, Scott Roach, Bob Baggett, Larry Cope, Gary Cope and Barry Cope. Honorary bearers are Robert Skidmore, Chuck James, Bart Jetton and Greg Ryan.
