Lamar County Commissioners to meet Monday

Appointments, grants and unforeseen revenues top the Lamar County Commissioners agenda Monday.

Commissioners will be asked to appoint Dr. David L. Stewart to the board of directors of Lakes Regional Mental Health, Mental retardation.

The court also will be asked to appoint Bill Harris as a candidate to fill the vacancy on the board of directors of the Lamar County Appraisal District.

Commissioners will be asked to execute a resolution to pursue energy efficiency and conservation block grant funding made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The court will be asked to execute a notification of intent to accept the energy efficiency and conservation block grant program allocation.

Commissioners also will be asked to accept funds from Mid-Continent Express Pipeline for damages that occurred on county roads during pipeline construction.

Certain county roads near Roxton will be the subject of discussion for closing during an upcoming November road race.

Commissioners will consider adding CASA and Child Advocacy Center to the list of entities to whom jurors may donate their jury payments.

The court will consider establishing a local advisory board to ensure completeness of data entered into the Criminal Justice Information System.

Other items on the agenda include:

•designating the county judge be authorized to handle the grant application for the Indigent Defense Formula Grant Program;

•purchase of a police vehicle;

•allowing Lamar County Auditor Kevin Parsons pay routine and recurring claims in advance of Commissioners Court approval;

•an amendment to the lease agreement between Lamar County and Tyler-Eagle concerning film and film storage;

•an interlocal agreement with Hunt County for daily indexing services;

•approval of an agreement between Lamar County and Safeguard Imaging Solutions for daily indexing;

•continuous certification on behalf of Lamar County Elections Administrator Russ Towers;

•amending Lamar County salary guidelines and Lamar County pay schedule;

•approval of COBRA Administrative Services agreement between Lamar County and United Healthcare Insurance Company;

•receiving county treasurer’s report for August; and

•receiving the auditor’s monthly report for August.
