Christian Seth Carmical

Christian Seth Carmical, 29, of Powderly departed this life Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Additional services are to be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, in the chapel of Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, La., with interment following in the Hill Crest Memorial Park.

The family receives friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Starrett Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Hill Crest Funeral Home, Haughton, La.

He was born Aug. 10, 1980 in Dallas, the son of David Harold Carmical and Angela McGrath Hooper. He attended Airline High School in Bossier City, and then graduated from Allen High School in Allen. Following high school, he was a graduate of the Collin County Police Academy in McKinney. He was a former Deputy with the Lamar County Sheriffs Office and later an officer with the Reno Police Department. He worked as a welder for Turner Pipe, Inc.

He was a devoted son, grandson and father, and his greatest joy in life was his son and his new baby girl. He leaves this life reunited with his best friend and sister Brianna, for whom his daughter is named. Seth, you will be greatly missed by your loving family.

He married Kandace Denison July 10, 2004, in Paris.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Brianna Faith Carmical in 2000; by a grandmother, Carolyn McGrath; and a grandfather, Harold Carmical.

Survivors include his wife, Kandace; a son, Collin Carmical; a daughter, Emmalyn Carmical; his mother, Angela Hooper and husband, Ronnie, of Murphy; his father, David Carmical and wife, Patti, of Shreveport; his father and mother-in-law, Don and Sherry Denison, of Paris; grandparents, Shirley Carmical, of Bossier City, and Harry McGrath, of Shreveport; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dale and Shanna Wilkerson and their sons, Rayce and Kye Wilkerson; two step-sisters, Rebecca Bogan and daughter, Ava Reese Bogan and Wendy Petty and daughters, Madeline Claire Petty and Ainsley Emma Petty, all of Shreveport; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Named to serve as pallbearers are Dale Wilkerson, Michael Woodson, Shane Ervin, Rick Hutchins, Brian Boren, and Ryan Sloan.

Honorary pallbearers are Ben Burgess, Wade Kueckelhan and Tommy Moore.

In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be made a special fund in his name at Guaranty Bond Bank.
