Johnny Dow Mayes
COMMERCE – Johnny Dow Mayes went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Oct. 29, 2009.
A life celebration service is to be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at New Life Baptist Church in Cooper. Commerce Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Commerce has charge of arrangements.
He was born March 11, 1947, to Ida Dow Craig Mayes and J.P. (Jake) Mayes.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jalan Blann Mayes of Cooper; four children, Derek Mayes of Paris, Jeff Mayes of Colorado, Laurie Chennault of Paris and Jayla Kathryn Mayes of Cooper; two grandchildren, Haven Grace Cato of Reno and Hannah Beth Chennault of Paris.
Honorary pallbearers include Steve Blevins, James Olen Janes, Bud Skinner, Justin Walker and Bill Henton.
