AUSTIN — On Wednesday, Nov, 11, residents of the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham are to be honored with a visit from Congressman Ralph Hall, who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
“Congressman Hall served our country in a time of war, and now serves our great state in Washington,” said Jerry Patterson, commissioner of the Texas Veterans Land Board, which oversees the Texas State Veterans Home program. “He will be warmly welcomed by residents of the home who fought in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.”
The Veterans Day event is to last from 2-4 p.m. Residents will also participate in a pinning and flag retirement ceremony along with local Boy Scout Troop 911.
Bonham’s Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home is one of seven statewide. Each home provides skilled long-term nursing care, comprehensive rehabilitation programs, special diets, recreational activities, social services, a library, and a certified, secured Alzheimer’s unit with its own secured outdoor courtyard.
