Janell Stallings Gray
Janell Stallings Gray, 85, of Paris passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Brentwood Terrace.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Don Morton officiating.
The family receives friends one hour before services at the cemetery.
She was born Sept. 12, 1924, the daughter of Robert Lee and Gladys Akard Chambliss in Cooper. As a child, she assisted her father on the local milk route and worked the switchboard for the locally owned telephone company. Later, she worked at the Lamar Creamery, was an original employee of Brookshire’s and for many years, worked at Belk Department Store. She married Donald N. Stallings in 1946. He preceded her in death. She then married Olan C. Gray who later also preceded her in death.
She leaves this earth to rejoin her many family and friends who have passed before her. “Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you. I loved you so; it was heaven here with you.”
She was preceded in death by her parents as well.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy K. Parker and husband, Bob, of Carthage; two sons, Jim Stallings and wife, Syble, of Sumner and Brad L. Stallings and wife, Nancy, of Paris; four grandchildren, Kim Jones, Tiffany Brown, Nicholas Stallings and Alex Stallings; five great-grandchildren; and one special niece, Peggy Noble.
The family would like to thank Bob Robertson, Drs. Bandel, Trammel, Gulde and Zimmerman, Paris Skilled Nursing, Dubuis Hospital and Brentwood Terrace Alzheimer’s Unit and Legacy Hospice.
