Dorothy Croy

BOGATA – Dorothy Croy, 86, formerly of Bogata died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in Round Rock.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Bogata United Methodist Church with Rev. John Cowling officiating. Burial is to be in Bogata Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Red River County, the daughter of Alfred Allen and Dorcas Craccock Gifford. She married Ernest Croy Aug. 6, 1949, in Lubbock. She was a longtime member of Bogata Unted Methodist Church, moving from Bogata to Trinity in March of 1997. Due to declining health, she moved in with her daughter in Round Rock in November of 2007.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ernest, May 19, 1996; her parents; two brothers, Bob and Jim Gifford; a sister, Martha Alexander; a grandson, Randy Gregory; great-granddaughter, Faith Murphy.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Gregory and husband, Donald Ray, of Highlands and Deborah Murphy of Round Rock; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; as well as three nieces and one nephew.

The family requests memorials be made to Lighthouse Hospice of Georgetown 2913 Williams Dr. Ste 320 Georgetown, Tx. 78628.
