‘The Mummy’s Claw’ offers weekend fun
Staff Report

This weekend is a great opportunity to have a few thrills, laughs and chills while supporting drama students at North Lamar High School.
The theater department students have spent months preparing for this weekend. Help them make it that much more special Saturday, by bundling up your ghosts and goblins and treating them to “The Mummy’s Claw.”
Audience members are asked to wear their costumes to the Halloween night performance. Judging of costumes will take place for such categories as adult, high school, junior high and K-5. Prizes will be awarded.
The night out only costs $5 per person.
“The Mummy’s Claw” is billed as a bloodcurdling comedy mixed with mayhem and mystery. The Mark Chandler play is staged at a party in the home of an archaeologist in Egypt in the early 1900s. Guests of the party seek clues to secrets from stone tablets that conjure up an ancient evil.
The evening promises to be full of non-stop hilarity as the secrets are revealed little by little.
“The Mummy’s Claw” comes to the North Lamar High School Auditorium at 9 p.m. Saturday, with a matinee performance set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
So plan on a night with the family after a trip around the neighborhood trick-or-treating. What better way to extend the fun and excitement? Or, head to the school for the Sunday afternoon matinee for a few more chilling thrills.
A little culture mixed in with some laughs and screams never hurt anyone, and it’s a great way for the family to have some time together.
