On August 1st, The American Legion, Warren Teague Post #199 in Deport, Texas will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its charter. Over the past 100 years, Post #199 has served the community and surrounding area through sponsorship of baseball teams, Boy Scout Troops, and candidates to Boys State and Girls State, etc. The Post has also provided scholarship funding in the amount of $4,500.00 per year to area students. In addition, members of the Legion have renovated the Post’s Honor Room which displays photos of service-members who called this area home. We are planning to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our charter, as soon as the situation permits, with a re-dedication of the Honor Room and food for all. We are hoping to commemorate this momentous occasion in October, and will announce a final date, as soon as possible.
