The Paris-Lamar County Health District is gearing up for its final mass Covid-19 vaccination clinic at the Love Civic Center this week. Vaccinations will continue, but on a smaller scale, officials said.
The pause is temporary and just for this week as the Easton Southwest Shootout comes to Paris again, Paris-Lamar County Health District director Gina Prestridge confirmed.
On Tuesday, health district director Gina Prestridge said the J&J vaccine will be temporarily paused. The health district is the only entity receiving a vaccine allocation from the state this week, and that’s 500 Moderna doses.
Covid remains low at Paris Regional Medical Center, with just four Covid-infected people inpatient daily over the last week. At least 17% of the population in the U.S. is thought to be vaccinated.
District staff can receive their shot between 10 a.m. and noon, while the public is invited to receive a shot from 1 to 5 p.m.
The Paris Chapter of the NAACP will hold a second vaccination clinic April 17. The Johnson & Johnson one dose vaccine will be given.
